Remote & Hybrid Training Program Planner

Use this section as a working template for your next distributed training initiative.

Step 1: Define the program

Program name: Example: Hybrid Manager Enablement Program

Primary audience: Example: People managers leading remote and hybrid employees

Business priority: Example: Improve consistency of feedback, engagement, and performance support across distributed teams

Main risk if we do nothing: Example: Remote employees feel disconnected, managers respond inconsistently, and performance issues are caught too late

Desired outcome: Example: Managers hold better check-ins, reinforce training, and identify support needs earlier

Step 4: Build the manager reinforcement plan

Managers should know exactly what to do after employees complete training.

Use this checklist:

  • Review team completion status.
  • Hold a 15-minute discussion using provided prompts.
  • Ask each employee where they need more clarity or support.
  • Assign one real-work application task.
  • Revisit the topic in the next one-on-one.
  • Share patterns with HR or L&D.
  • Recognize employees who apply the learning well.

Suggested manager prompts:

  1. What part of this training felt most relevant to your current work?
  2. Where do our team norms support this behavior already?
  3. Where are we inconsistent?
  4. What is one change we should test for the next two weeks?
  5. What support do you need from me to apply this?
